留学美国没有什么比拿到学位更重要了。都知道美国学位的类别有四种：副学士（Associate）、学士（Bachelor）、硕士（Master）和博士(Doctor，通常简称Ph.D.)。按学位性质，美国有学术（研究）学位和专业（专科）学位两种。相较英国，美国的学位划分比较简洁，并且没有英国的预科课程，只有在本科的学士学位前，添加了副学士学位。那么这四种学位该如何获得呢？一起看看吧。
一、副学士学位（准学士学位）

◆获得学位方式：
这种课程一般由两年制的“社区大学”提供。副学士学位课程都在地方和初级学院里进行，提供不同目的课程：一是教学课程内容与四年制院相似，学生所获得的学分都可以转入四年制学院；二是职业教育课程，目的是使学生掌握实用的职业技能，无须攻读学士学位就能从事技术工作。学生只要在两年制学校里修完所需学分，成绩合格即可获得学位。

◆获得学位方式：
美国学生获得的学位一般是“文学学士(BA)”或“理学学士(BS)”。学生要学完四年全日制的课程，并完成要求的学分，成绩合格即可获得学士学位。在四年之中，学生应该掌握多种学科的广泛的一般性知识，同时要在其中某一具体领域里，掌握具有一定深度的专业知识。学生经常在大课后进行小组讨论，由学生自己阅读资料，然后一起讨论。学生在讨论会上的表现，便是教师评价学生学习成绩的一个重要依据。

在美国有超过1000所学校提供硕士学位，大体分为偏学术型和偏授课型。硕士学位只有开设了研究生课程的大学或专业学院才有授予权。攻读硕士学位必须修完学士课程或具有同等资格，用一到两年时间修完30个学分的硕士研究生程度的课程，一般还要求通过硕士论文答辩才能获得硕士学位。

美国各大学对博士研究生的培养通常分为三个阶段：
完成必要的课程学分、通过博士资格考试、做博士论文并通过答辩。
在美国，获取博士学位需要三到六年的时间。法学和法律博士一般是三年，其他专业一般是五年。博士研究的第一阶段一般为期两年，结束时要对此前所学所有学科领域进行一次总体考试，称为“初试”或“资格考试”，通过后就可以开始为博士毕业论文进行研究。
