Niche主要是从六个方面做的评判，SAT/ACT总分、顶尖大学成绩、4年制大学升学率、学生多样性等级、家长/学生问卷、学生和教师比。
今年的寄宿高中排名Top5还是有一些变化的，值得一提的是霍奇基斯中学一路晋升，从去年的排名15一路晋升到今年的第2；菲利普斯埃克塞特中学则是首次跌出前3，从第2跌至第5。
