加州大学圣地亚哥分校是加州大学教育系统内里最年轻的分校之一，但是从近几年的各大学术排名上看，加州大学圣地亚哥分校虽然成立只有短短的五十余年，却位列加州大学系统内前三名。先是在US News上坐稳了公立大学Top40的位置；紧跟着在大学研究拨款总额上高居全美第5，在加州大学系统内更是无人能及；加上校址位于加州著名的海滩度假胜地拉荷亚社区，在过去10年里，圣地亚哥分校的申请人数已经涨了一倍多。

加州大学圣地亚哥分校提供多达186个本科专业，不过校内学生多数集中在最知名的生物学和工程学专业。学校校园中学术氛围浓厚，虽然没有公开的学术竞争，但很多人为了拿到更高的GPA，不惜加修一个学期的课程。加州大学圣地亚哥分校不仅专门开设多个官方实习项目，而且鼓励学生到美国以外的地方进行实践和探索：25%的在校生参与国际交换生项目，这使得圣地亚哥分校成为全美所有高校中，出国学生第7多的大学。

申请加州大学圣地亚哥分校，成绩为第一要素 加州大学圣地亚哥分校可能是最适合中国特色教育模式下学生申请的美国大学。虽然招生官表示审阅申请时也会考虑学生的非学术性特质，但如果没有足够好的成绩作为后盾，其它都是白搭。这两年虽然加州大学圣地亚哥分校的录取率还没有到变态的6%，但所有被录取的学生中，99%都是高中年级的前10%。你可以通过加州大学的申请系统和自愿联邦奖学金去争取加州大学圣地亚哥分校为数不多的奖学金。
