东北大学为专业水平很高但需要提高英语水平的学生提供英语语言项目课程——美国课堂。该项目除了开设优质的语言课程，还提供全面的学术和文化课程。成功完成语言项目的学习后，学生便可学习本科常规课程。从语言项目获得的学分也计入本科阶段。研究生院与就业东北大学的毕业生在各自领域都有着卓越的表现，就职的知名企业有皮克斯、谷歌、微软、普华永道、摩根史坦利投资公司；考入的研究生院校有MIT、达特茅斯学院、哈佛大学、斯坦福大学。实习东北大学不仅提供实习，还有合作教育项目，让学生得到更切实专业的实践经验。一般而言，实习是短期兼职的工作模式（或是暑期实习），而合作教育项目是为期六个月的全职工作模式。所有合作教育项目的职位都是以教育成果为导向而设置的，并且企业雇主有责任为学生提供各种支持，助其实现目标。许多传统的实习项目都是无薪实习，但大部分合作教育项目的职位都是带薪工作，平均薪资为每小时16.79美元。
