南佛罗里达大学（UniversityofsouthFlorida，简称USF）建于1956年，是于20世纪创建的新型顶尖公立研究型大学。南佛罗里达大学仅用60年的时间便从开始的2000名学生发展到拥有5万名学生的大学，成为全美20所最大的大学之一，而且仍在不断的发展。南佛罗里达大学拥有强大的科研实力，该校在2011年美国知识产权所有人协会（IntellectualPropertyOwnersAssociatio）全美大学研发专利数量排名第10，在美国国家科学基金会（NationalScienceFoundation）全美大学研发投入支出经费排名第43。属于美国一级国家级大学。

南佛罗里达大学坐落在美国南部的佛罗里达州坦帕湾（TampaBay），是佛罗里达第二大城市群，位于佛罗里达高科技走廊，为学生提供了丰富的实习和就业资源。
